‘a useful resource for music teachers . . . well worth buying for use in the classroom … will lead you to a detailed understanding of the music. It details the different structural elements of the music, including the aural tags the master drummer plays to signal to the dancers and other players. Throughout the PDF are hyperlinks to sound and video clips. The sections on instruments and playing techniques are very helpful, especially discussing how western instruments can be adapted to play the music. Trevor Wiggins draws on his considerable experience of playing West African music.’
